Medical Director (DVM) –– Rocklin, CA
A veterinary hospital is seeking an experienced Medical Director (DVM) to lead its clinical team and help drive medical excellence across the practice. This role combines hands-on patient care with leadership responsibilities, offering the opportunity to mentor veterinarians, support team development, and contribute to the long-term success of the hospital.
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional medical and surgical care to patients
- Mentor and coach veterinarians and clinical team members
- Support medical quality, patient safety, and client satisfaction
- Conduct case reviews and promote continuous clinical improvement
- Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and developing veterinary talent
- Collaborate with leadership on hospital goals, workflows, and performance
- Ensure compliance with veterinary regulations and standards
- Maintain accurate and thorough medical records
Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) degree from an accredited institution
- Active veterinary license in good standing
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred
- Strong clinical, communication, and decision-making skills
- Passion for mentorship, teamwork, and professional development
