Job Description

Medical Coder - Full Time (Remote)
Granger Medical Clinic is seeking an experienced Medical Coder to join our team. This is a remote position, offering the flexibility to work from home while supporting our mission of delivering exceptional patient care.

Location Requirement: Candidates must reside in one of the following states: Utah, South Carolina, Arizona, Texas, Kentucky, Georgia, Arkansas, Idaho, or Wyoming.

General Surgery experience is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately audit and code daily E/M visits
  • Review operative reports, transcriptions, and other documentation to extract necessary information.
  • Assign correct CPT codes, associated modifiers, and ICD-10 codes to billing documents.
  • Provide coding and billing education and feedback to providers.
  • Research, correct, resubmit, and appeal denied claims.
  • Stay current on payer policies and procedures, both standard and unique.
  • Maintain a minimum 90% coding accuracy rate
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to self-educate and adapt to changing requirements.
  • Strong customer service, communication, multitasking, and organizational skills.
  • Certification required: AAPC or AHIMA (CPC, CCS-P).
  • Minimum 2 years of medical coding experience
  • General Surgery coding experience required.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Sedentary work, requiring lifting up to 10lbs
  • Repetitive motion associated with operating a computer and other office equipment
  • Inside, climate-controlled working conditions
