NORTHEAST DELTA HUMAN SERVICES AUTHORITY MISSION:

Northeast Delta Human Services Authority is looking for a Medical Certification Specialist 2 to conduct surveys and/or assessments to verify that the services provided to individuals by providers, facilities, waivers, and/or long-term care programs comply with federal certification, state regulations, and established state standards.

Examples of duties
A current Louisiana license in a health services field, health regulation field, or social services field plus three years of experience in hospital or nursing home administration, health services, health regulation, or social services; OR
A bachelor's degree plus three years of experience in hospital or nursing home administration, health services, health regulation, or social services; OR
A master's degree in a health services field, health regulation field, or a social services field plus two years of experience in hospital or nursing home administration, health services, health regulation, or social services.

Job Duties:
- Receives and reviews in detail all components of the individual's initial comprehensive plan of care for all three current HCBWS programs and evaluates overall effectiveness of the recipient's plan, ensuring personal outcomes and person-centered goals are identified appropriately within each plan, as well as evaluating how supports ensure the individual's health and safety in the Community setting.
- Obtains information from review of records, applicant/recipient interview with personal observation during home visits to make determination of eligibility for certification into waiver service program, and prepares information and summary of evidence for appeals as requested by customers and families who do not agree with the decision of the agency.
- Plans and is actively engaged in the assessment and planning process, including attending team meetings, ongoing interaction with team members, possible involvement with the Community Support Team, and/or the judicial system.
- Has routine and regular contact with non-waiver participants and other agencies/entities regarding the definition of home and community-based services, promotion of such services, application process of services, and status of registry date.
- Represents OCDD Region VIII administration at various meetings and trainings and may be required to perform other duties as necessary, including, but not limited to, emergency/disaster support activities.

Compensation:NEDHSA is a designated approved National Health Service Corps (NHSC) site. Clinicians who work at NHSC-approved sites are eligible to apply to the NHSC Loan Repayment Program to pay off student loans.
- 2-year Full-Time Clinical Practice: NHSC will pay up to $50,000* for an initial 2 years of full-time clinical practice to clinicians.
(Full-time clinical practice is defined as no less than 40 hours per week, for a minimum of 45 weeks per year.)
