Job Description

MediCard is currently looking for assertive, dynamic and energetic individuals to fill up the following vacancy:

The role is primarily office-based but may require frequent travel to various clinic locations. The Capability Lead will also work closely with corporate clients and attend meetings with senior management.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Work closely with FSC heads and occupational health department leaders to identify training needs for both new hires and existing doctors and nurses. Design, implement, and oversee the delivery of training programs that enhance clinical skills, medical knowledge, patient interaction, and compliance with healthcare protocols. Deliver in-house training programs for medical staff on clinical best practices, new medical technologies, patient safety protocols, and emergency care procedures. Ensure ongoing professional development opportunities for medical staff, including specialized training, workshops, and certification programs in line with the evolving needs of the healthcare environment. Use feedback and performance evaluations to assess the effectiveness of training programs and identify areas for improvement.

2. Design and execute a functional capability development strategy for medical staff, focusing on enhancing clinical skills, leadership, and patient care efficiency. Monitor and analyze staff performance data to identify gaps in skills and knowledge.

3. Work with FSC heads and the clinical operations team to assess existing processes, provide feedback, and recommend improvements that enhance operational efficiency and patient care. Contribute to the development and review of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in clinical operations, ensuring that all clinical processes are streamlined, patient-centered, and aligned with healthcare regulations. Identify opportunities to improve clinical workflows and patient interaction processes, such as reducing wait times, enhancing patient triage, and optimizing the use of medical staff. Collaborate with the IT department and clinical teams to integrate technology solutions that support telemedicine, patient records management, and medical equipment use in FSCs and occupational health departments.

4. Support the development of leadership skills within the FSC heads and senior medical staff, ensuring they are equipped to manage teams effectively and foster a positive working environment. Establish regular feedback loops with clinic heads, healthcare staff, and administrative teams to ensure that ongoing staff development aligns with operational goals and patient care standards.

FINANCIAL MEASURES
• Ensure training programs are delivered within budget, optimizing resources without compromising the quality of professional development.
• Improve resource utilization by developing multi-skilled medical teams, reducing the need for outsourced services or temporary staffing.

NON-FINANCIAL MEASURES
• Track the percentage of medical staff who have completed required training programs and certifications.
• Monitor improvements in staff clinical competencies through performance evaluations, patient outcomes, and quality audits.
• Measure the impact of professional development programs on staff retention rates and job satisfaction.
• Improve the time-to-hire for qualified doctors and nurses through streamlined credentialing and interview processes.
• Measure patient feedback and satisfaction metrics, reflecting the positive impact of staff capability development on patient care and experience.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Education – bachelor’s degree in healthcare management, nursing, or a related field.
• Experience – Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in a healthcare leadership role, preferably within an HMO, clinic, or occupational health setting. Strong background in managing teams, with proven experience in leadership, staff development, and process improvement. Solid knowledge of HMO benefits and policy and ISO certification requirements.
• Technical / functional skills: Ability to create budgets, mine and analyze data, and create and implement cost-saving initiatives.
• Business skills: Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
