Central Coast Home Health and Hospice is a fast-growing and locally owned organization with an excellent reputation throughout San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties. We are constantly growing and now seeking a Medical Insurance Coordinator to join our Billing team in the San Luis Obispo office. Not Remote

Work schedule: Full-time hours, Monday through Friday onsite in San Luis Obispo office

Main Duties:

• Verify Insurance benefits, request insurance authorization for services, and update patient charts.
• Communicate with patients, insurances, MD offices, clinical staff and co-workers to verify, confirm, and obtain information that may affect billing.
• Cover for teammates with similar responsibilities when they are on vacation or out sick.

Requirements:

• Knowledge of insurance eligibility, benefit verification and authorizations preferred
• Excellent computer skills including working knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook email/calendar
• Excellent telephone and customer service skills
• Self-directed and resourceful with ability to handle multiple tasks
• Detail oriented with ability to solve problems, manage time effectively and prioritize tasks
• Flexibility in the work environment and ability to deal with frequent change, delays, and unexpected events
• Team player with a professional, positive attitude and ability to cover and assist teammates as needed
