We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Billing Specialist (Claims Specialist) to own the full claims lifecycle, from submission through resolution, ensuring timely and accurate reimbursement for services that change lives.
In this role, you will be a critical partner across billing, intake, and contracting, helping identify trends, resolve denials, and improve revenue cycle performance.
Salary range: $40K - $54K + Benefits.
This position is fully remote, however, for this role, we are prioritizing candidates who align with the Eastern time zone (EDT/EST) for consistent overlap and availability with our core clinical and operational teams.
What You’ll Do
Manage claims from submission through final resolution, including follow-ups, appeals, and payment support.
Investigate and resolve unpaid or denied claims using payer portals and direct outreach to insurance providers.
Analyze denials and rejections, research payer policies, and submit reconsiderations and appeals.
Document account activity and manage medical records requests with accuracy and compliance.
Track and trend payer issues to identify patterns and recommend process improvements.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Billing, Cash Posting, Contracting, and Intake teams.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or certification preferred.
CPC certification preferred.
2–5 years of medical billing or claims management experience, ideally in behavioral health or healthcare services.
