REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Knowledge of behavioral health clinical services preferred.
- 2–3 years of experience in medical or healthcare billing required.
- Demonstrated experience with claims processing, payment posting, and collections.
- Strong knowledge of revenue cycle management, Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance plans, and third-party payers.
- Experience investigating and resolving denied or unpaid claims.
- Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients, clinicians, colleagues, and insurance payers.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain confidentiality of all client Protected Health Information (PHI) in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Prepare, submit, and monitor government and commercial insurance claims for reimbursement.
- Investigate, research, and resolve unpaid, denied, or rejected claims in a timely manner.
- Report delinquent accounts and billing concerns to the Billing Manager.
- Assist clients with resolving complex billing issues and understanding out-of-pocket financial responsibilities.
- Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and coverage as needed.
- Post payments accurately and support accounts receivable and collection activities.
- Maintain accurate billing records and documentation.
- Collaborate with clinicians, payers, and internal departments to ensure timely claim resolution and reimbursement.
- Support revenue cycle operations through effective follow-up and account management.
- Utilize spreadsheet and word processing software to perform billing-related duties and reporting.
- Demonstrate professionalism and provide supportive service to individuals from diverse ethnic, social, and educational backgrounds.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
