This is an on-site position. Audiology Services is a long-standing private hearing healthcare practice that has proudly served the Belmont community for nearly 40 years. Audiology Services is seeking a Medical Billing & Insurance Coordinator to manage the practice’s insurance and billing operations while assisting with patient communication and front office support as needed. Position Overview The Medical Billing & Insurance Coordinator is responsible for managing the practice’s core insurance and billing functions, including insurance verification, prior authorizations, claims submission, payment posting, denial follow-up, and patient account support. This role works closely with patients, insurance carriers, and internal team members to help ensure accurate billing, timely reimbursement, and a positive patient experience. While the primary focus of this position is medical billing and insurance, the role also provides occasional front office support, including scheduling assistance, patient check-in/check-out, and phone coverage as needed. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, proactive, and comfortable balancing administrative accuracy with compassionate patient communication. Key Responsibilities Medical Billing & Insurance Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and coverage requirements Obtain and track prior authorizations as required Submit and track insurance claims accurately and efficiently Follow up on denied or rejected claims, including appeals as needed Post insurance and patient payments and maintain accurate account records Communicate with insurance companies regarding claim status, coverage, and reimbursement issues Assist patients with billing questions, balances, insurance coverage, and payment-related concerns Maintain accurate and HIPAA-compliant billing documentation and workflows Administrative & Patient Support Assist with patient scheduling and appointment coordination Greet and check in/check out patients as needed Provide phone support and route calls appropriately Support day-to-day administrative functions within the office Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to help ensure a smooth patient experience Requirements 2+ years of experience in medical billing, insurance coordination, or revenue cycle support Experience in a private practice healthcare setting preferred (audiology, ENT, PT/OT, optometry, dental, or similar) Strong attention to detail and follow-through Comfortable communicating with both insurance representatives and patients Ability to multitask and adapt within a collaborative small-practice environment Strong organizational and problem-solving skills Benefits Health insurance fully funded by the employer Matching retirement plan Paid time off and holidays
