Medical Biller / Revenue Cycle Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Biller to handle a wide range of billing functions for our healthcare clients. As a critical member of our revenue cycle management team, you will be responsible for processing claims, managing accounts receivable, resolving billing issues, and ensuring timely reimbursement from payers. This role requires accuracy, efficiency, and a solid understanding of healthcare billing practices and insurance guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and submit medical claims to insurance companies, government payers (Medicare/Medicaid), and patients

• Follow up on unpaid claims and resolve denials, rejections, and discrepancies

• Post payments and reconcile accounts accurately

• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits when needed

• Communicate with healthcare providers and insurance companies to clarify billing questions or coding issues

• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and billing guidelines

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payer rules and industry changes

• Assist with audits, reports, and data entry related to billing activities

• Support clients with monthly revenue reports and financial summaries

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in medical billing or revenue cycle management (multi-specialty or multi-provider experience is a plus)

• Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes

• Familiarity with payer portals, EHRs/EMRs, and billing software (e.g., Kareo, Athena, AdvancedMD, etc.)

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

• Strong communication and problem-solving skills

• Experience managing a team or training new billers is a huge plus

• Certification in medical billing and coding (CPC, CMRS, or similar) is preferred but not required
