• Full-Time | 40 Hours WeeklyOverviewMercy Clinic Women's Health at Medical Tower B is seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our Women's Health team. This position plays an essential role in delivering high-quality patient care while supporting physicians and advanced practice providers in a fast-paced outpatient setting.The ideal candidate is committed to providing exceptional patient experiences, maintaining clinical excellence, and supporting women throughout all stages of life. As part of Mercy, you will uphold our mission of caring for the sick and suffering with compassion, dignity, respect, and excellence.Key ResponsibilitiesClinical DutiesRoom patients and obtain vital signs, medical histories, and current health informationAssist physicians and advanced practice providers with examinations and in-office proceduresPerform EKGs and point-of-care testing as neededAdminister injections and medications according to provider orders and clinic protocolsComplete medication reconciliation and update patient recordsPerform phlebotomy as applicablePrepare, clean, and maintain instruments and clinical equipmentStock and organize exam rooms to ensure readiness for patient careEnter diagnostic, laboratory, imaging, and ancillary service ordersMaintain accurate and timely electronic medical record documentationCommunicate patient concerns, test results, and clinical updates to providersAdministrative DutiesSchedule patient appointments and coordinate follow-up careManage patient messages and assist with prescription refill requestsProcess referrals and coordinate specialty care appointmentsComplete insurance prior authorizations and precertificationsAssist with medical record requests and releasesSupport patient flow and clinic efficiency through effective coordination with providers and staffPatient Care & EducationProvide patient education regarding medications, procedures, preventive care, and treatment plans according to clinic policiesEstablish positive relationships with patients through compassionate and professional communicationPromote patient comfort, privacy, and confidentialityDemonstrate understanding and sensitivity to the diverse needs of the populations servedCompliance & QualityFollow HIPAA regulations and Mercy confidentiality policiesMaintain compliance with OSHA standards and infection prevention practicesAdhere to PPE, Quality, and Safety policiesSupport continuous quality improvement initiatives within the clinicAssist with Medical Assistant competency reviews when a Lead MA is unavailableMaintain required certifications and competenciesQualificationsRequiredHigh School Diploma or GEDStrong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skillsAbility to work collaboratively in a team-based healthcare environmentCommitment to providing exceptional patient care and customer servicePreferredGraduate of an accredited Medical Assistant programCertified Medical Assistant (CMA)One year of applicable patient care or medical office experienceExperience in Women's Health, OB/GYN, or other specialty clinic settingsExperience with phlebotomy, referrals, prior authorizations, and electronic medical recordsTraining RequirementsNew hires must successfully complete Mercy's Medical Assistant Clinic Academy training program.Medical Assistants advancing through the career ladder must complete required MA competencies.Why Mercy?At Mercy, our coworkers are united by a shared mission to provide compassionate care and exceptional service.
