This position is located at the BHDD - Office of Mental Health, Pickens County Clinic, 337 West Main Street, Easley, SC 29640.
As a Medical Assistant Technician II, under direct supervision, you will assist Medical Staff in a variety of semi-skilled nursing tasks to include assistance with Prior Authorization, medication refills and obtaining vitals.
Responsibilities for the Medical Assistant Technician II:
Perform duties which include administration and monitoring of medication of patients, calling in prescriptions for patients, recording and monitoring medication usage. Consult with school nurses, PCPs, families and others regarding medications and patient needs and relays all information to provider. Will complete in a timely and organized manner, keeping accurate records through the process.
Work closely with the physicians/medical providers rendering services to patients to include escorting them to and from the waiting room, collecting vitals (e.g., pulse, weight, height, blood pressure), completing urine drug screenings as requested. Follow up on any requests of the physicians/medical providers related to continued treatment which may include prescriptions, sample medications and follow-up appointments.
Assist with Prior Authorization Medication Forms. Use the electronic medical record to research medications to verify and fill out forms that assist a patient in receiving a medication as required by various payor sources.
Documentation of services in clinical record according to Q.A. Standards and agency policy and procedure.
