Radiation Oncology Medical Assistant responsibilities, but not limited to the following

  • Monitors schedule and organizes patient flow for physician office visits or in-office procedures
  • Accompanies patients to exam room, triages, collects patient history, and provides physical assessments as delegated by the physicians schedules and obtains results for testing, procedures, and other services as ordered by the physician; interprets and accurately communicates results to physicians and patients as necessary
  • Manages patient charts to ensure clinical information is complete, including scanning forms into charts in a timely manner
  • Prepares charts in the EMR prior to the physician visit according to practice process
  • Performs upkeep for exam rooms with regards to sterilization and infection control, supplies, and equipment
  • Answers emails and voicemails and returns patient calls in a timely and efficient manner
  • Completes requests for information from other UCBC/UHA staff and ensures they're handled promptly and effectively
  • Abides by and promotes HIPAA compliance; maintains strictest confidentiality with regards to patient information
  • Performs any other duties and or special projects as assigned

Requirements:

  • Medical Assistant Certification
  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • 1 year experience preferred
