Medical Assisting Program Director

Duties

• Lead the planning, coordination, and evaluation of the Medical Assisting program to ensure curriculum relevance, compliance with accreditation standards, and alignment with industry needs
• Collaborate with faculty to develop engaging lesson plans, assessments, and instructional materials that enhance student learning outcomes
• Oversee student recruitment, enrollment processes, and retention strategies to foster a supportive educational environment
• Manage program budgets, resources, and scheduling to maximize operational efficiency
• Monitor student progress through assessments and provide guidance to support academic achievement and professional development
• Maintain strong relationships with healthcare industry partners to facilitate clinical placements and job placement opportunities for graduates
• Ensure compliance with all accreditation requirements, institutional policies, and regulatory standards related to medical assisting education

Skills

• Proven experience in higher education teaching within healthcare or medical assisting programs
• Strong background in education administration with demonstrated leadership in program management
• Extensive training and/or education experience with a clear understanding of academic policies and curriculum development
• Excellent teaching skills that engage diverse student populations and foster active learning
• Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, staff, and industry partners to promote a collaborative educational environment
• Exceptional organizational skills for managing multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail
• Passion for mentoring students and supporting their academic and professional growth
• Flexible schedule availability to lead/manage a program with day/evening classes
