About the Role:
The Medical Assistant plays a vital role in supporting both administrative and clinical functions to ensure efficient office operations and high-quality patient care. This position will work between front office and clinical duties depending on daily need. It involves direct patient interaction, provider support, and accurate documentation in accordance with state regulations. Responsibilities include administrative front office duties, rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, preparing exam rooms, and assisting with routine clinical tasks to facilitate a smooth and professional healthcare experience.
What You’ll Do:
Clerical Duties:
- Greet and check in patients; ensure timely patient flow.
- Manage multiple phone lines and scheduling systems.
- Receive referrals and contact patients for scheduling.
- Provide patients with visit information, estimated charges, and required documentation.
- Verify patient ID and insurance; assist with forms and billing questions.
- Collect and record payments (copays, co-insurance, deductibles, and balances).
- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm appointments.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and demographics.
- Keep reception and waiting areas clean, organized, and sanitized.
- Assist patients in distress and monitor the waiting area for safety.
- Contribute to team efforts by performing additional tasks, as requested
Clinical Duties:
- Room patients and collect vital signs, medical histories, and chief complaints.
- Assist providers during examinations, procedures, and in-office treatments.
- Administer injections and perform point-of-care testing as ordered
- Verify and prepare patient charts, ensuring labs, imaging, pathology, and referral reports are complete.
- Sterilize instruments, operate the autoclave, and maintain clean, well-stocked exam rooms and clinical supplies.
- Triage patient clinical calls and respond to EMR tasks, pharmacy coordination, and patient communications.
- Manage medication samples and inventory in compliance with clinical protocols.
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations, infection control standards, and safety procedures.
As with any dynamic clinical setting, responsibilities may evolve to meet the changing needs of the clinic and support overall team success.
Qualifications
Qualifications & Requirements:
3 days a week onsite required
High school diploma or GED required.
- 1 – 2 years of clinical experience required.
- Strong communication, organization, and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Work Environment & Physical Expectations:
- On-site, clinical office setting.
- 3 days a week, no weekends, daytime schedule; occasional after-hours meetings may be required.
- Ability to move throughout the office as needed, including frequent standing, walking, bending, and light lifting. Must possess manual dexterity for handling equipment and the ability to push, pull, and carry items as required.
