This is a full-time benefitted resource position at Scripps Clinic Torrey Pines, working Monday through Friday in 8-hour shifts. Shift times may vary based on clinic operational needs, with start times as early as 7:00 AM and end times as late as 5:00 PM.

What you'll do: Rooming patientsChecking vitalsAssisting with proceduresClinic prep assisting with Provider specific protocolsPredominantly back-office responsibilities but is expected to help with front-office duties on an as-needed basisMaintains a clean, organized, and safe environmentOrganizes and performs patient care services that support the physician’s practiceRelaying instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized personCollecting patient data in person and by phoneDocumenting patient concerns, messages and care provided in the electronic medical record for the physician's reviewAdministering medications specifically directed by the physicianScheduling of appointments and proceduresComplete and accurate message takingRouting messages to the appropriate area for directionOrder and referral entryAcquisition of pre-certificationsSetting up of cases in EPICBasic registration and updating of demographics
Requirements:Completion of a formal Medical Assistant Program, or Medical Assistance Certification, or a minimum of two years of experience as a military corpsmanBLS certification for the Healthcare Provider by the American Heart Association (AHA)Preferred Experience/Specialized Skills:One year of experience as a MA in an outpatient settingPrevious experience in Orthopedic SurgeryNew grads welcome to apply!
