This is a benefited, full-time position that generally works Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. There are no weekend or evening shifts. The position is located at Scripps Encinitas on Santa Fe Drive. Travel to other Scripps Coastal OBGYN clinic locations, including Oceanside and both Jefferson and Mission, is required as needed.

Your Job Duties:Rooming patients, checking vitals, assisting with proceduresClinic prep assisting with Provider specific protocolsMaintains a clean, organized, and safe environmentOrganizes and performs patient care services that support the physician’s practiceRelaying instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized personCollecting patient data in person and by phoneDocumenting patient concerns, messages and care provided in the electronic medical record for the physician's reviewAdministering medications specifically directed by the physicianScheduling of appointments and proceduresComplete and accurate message takingRouting messages to the appropriate area for directionOrder and referral entry, acquisition of pre-certificationsSetting up of cases in EPIC plus basic registration and updating of demographics
Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:Completion of a formal Medical Assistant Program, or Medical Assistance Certification, or a minimum of two years of experience as a military corpsmanBLS certification for the Healthcare Provider by the American Heart Association (AHA)Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:One year of experience as an MA in an outpatient settingOBGYN clinic experienceAbility to thrive in a fast-paced environmentAccess to reliable transportation preferredNew grads welcome to apply!
