Dermatology Institute is hiring a full-time Medical Assistant to support providers in our LaGrange and Newnan, Georgia offices. This position is ideal for a Medical Assistant who enjoys hands-on patient care, thrives in a fast-paced clinic, and is passionate about providing an exceptional patient experience.
We are looking for someone with strong clinical skills, excellent attention to detail, and phlebotomy experience (required) CMA credential is preferred but not required—we're happy to train motivated Medical Assistants with a strong clinical background.
Schedule
- Monday & Tuesday: LaGrange, GA | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
- Wednesday & Thursday: Newnan, GA | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
- Some Fridays: 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Responsibilities
As a Medical Assistant, you'll work alongside our providers to deliver exceptional patient care while keeping clinic flow efficient.
Responsibilities:
- Room and prepare patients for examination and procedures
- Obtain and document medical history and chief complaints
- Assist physicians and advanced practice providers with medical, cosmetic, and surgical dermatology procedures
- Assist with biopsies, excisions, cryotherapy, and other in-office dermatologic procedures.
- Perform venipuncture and collect laboratory specimens (phlebotomy required)
- Administer medications and injections as directed
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and procedure rooms
- Document patient encounters accurately within the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Educate patients on medications, wound care, and treatment plans
- Coordinate laboratory testing, pathology specimens, and follow-up care
- Maintain exam room supplies and clinical inventory
- Provide compassionate, professional patient care while supporting an efficient clinic workflow
- Other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Required
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous Medical Assistant or comparable clinical patient care experience.
- Phlebotomy experience.
- Reliable transportation between the LaGrange and Newnan offices.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
Preferred
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA).
- Completion of a Medical Assistant or CNA program, or bachelor's degree in a pre-med or pre-physician assistant program.
- 1-2 years of recent Medical Assistant or clinical patient care experience.
- Dermatology experience.
- Experience assisting with biopsies, excisions, sutures, cryotherapy, or cosmetic procedures.
- Experience using an EMR such as EMA, ModMed, NextGen, or eClinicalWorks.
Licensure/Certifications/Education
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED.
- Phlebotomy experience.
- Ability to travel between the LaGrange and Newnan office locations.
Preferred
- Completion of a Medical Assistant program, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program, or a bachelor's degree in a pre-med or pre-physician assistant program.
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential.
- 1-2 years of recent experience as a Medical Assistant, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), or in a clinical patient care role.
- Previous dermatology experience.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Frequent bending, reaching, twisting, balancing, and other repetitive movements.
- Frequent use of hands and fingers for clinical procedures and documentation.
- Ability to communicate effectively in person and by telephone.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 30 pounds.
- Ability to handle medical supplies, instruments, and office materials.
- Exposure to bloodborne pathogens, infectious diseases, chemicals, and sharps while following standard safety precautions.
