Medical Assistant II - UI Health Care Specialty Clinic 100%-(26004286)

University of Iowa Heath Care is seeking a 100% Medical Assistant II (40hours per week) to work at our Urology Northgate Medicine Clinic University of Iowa Health Care's specialty clinic provides a convenient location for medical and surgical care for male and female patients, and selected services for pediatric patients. This position will mainly support our patients at Northgate Urology Clinic but could float to other clinic locations based on clinical needs/hours.

Our experts provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment in the clinic setting as well as surgical interventions for all urologic system diseases and disorders. Our multidisciplinary teams are formed from medical and surgical specialties across the institution to provide patient-centered care. Duties to include:

  • Staff will support our Urology Clinic.
  • Under direct supervision of physician, physician assistant, nurse practitioner or registered nurse.
  • Performs technical, patient care and related clerical functions in an ambulatory setting.
  • Duties may involve the use of electronic word/data processing equipment and/or conventional office equipment.

  • Other duties as assigned

Percent of Time: 100% (40 hours per week)

Schedule: Monday - Friday; variable hours 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM.

Location: Iowa City, IA (and surrounding sites based on clinical needs/hours up to a two-hour radius)

Pay Grade: 9 https://hr.uiowa.edu/pay/pay-plans/merit-alpha-matrix

Salary: Hourly: $41,718.24-$61,971.84 (based on years of experience)

Qualifications

Minimum Eligibility Requirements

  • Certification OR registration as a Medical Assistant OR completion of a recognized one year Medical Assistant Program, OR Completion of a health care profession program with a curriculum incorporating elements of a Medical Assistant program including but not limited to: pathophysiology, medical terminology, basic pharmacology and medication administration including dose calculation and psychology.

Special Qualification/License:

  • Driver's License and ability to meet UI Fleet Safety Standards Availability to provide support to other clinical locations based on clinical need/hours

Desirable Qualifications

  • Previous Urology Clinic experience is preferred
  • Previous experience in a team-orientated environment is preferred
  • Phlebotomy experience is preferred
  • Previous experience with computer skills and ability to navigate EMR – Epic, Word, etc.
