Medical Assistant II - Stead Family Children's Hospital Pediatric Specialty Clinic - (26005007)

Description

The University of Iowa Health Care Department of Nursing is seeking a Medical Assistant II to perform specific tasks to assist members of the Nursing team in providing patient care under the direct supervision of the Nurse Manager. Pediatric Specialty Clinic The Pediatric Specialty Clinic offers comprehensive care to patients from infancy through adolescence and for certain chronic diseases into adulthood. Our 34 exam rooms were opened in 2017; an additional 20 rooms are anticipated to open in 2018. This clinic focuses on multiple pediatric specialties including allergy/pulmonary/immunology, cardiology, genetics, neurology, renal, urology, diabetes, endocrine, gastroenterology, psychology, rheumatology, general surgery, and pain and palliative care. This unit has many state-of the art facilities including five echocardiography rooms, exercise lab, pulmonary function lab, EEG lab, two treatment rooms, and a phlebotomy lab. Percent of Time: 100%

Schedule: 40 hours per week, day shift, 0730 - 1800

Location: Stead Family Children’s Hospital (SFCH)

Rotations: no weekends, no holidays, no on-call

Qualifications

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:Certification or registration as a Medical Assistant or completion of a recognized one year Medical Assistant Program, or Completion of a health care profession program with a curriculum incorporating elements of a Medical Assistant program including but not limited to: pathophysiology, medical terminology, basic pharmacology and medication administration including dose calculation and psychology.
