Job Description

Granger Medical Clinic has an opening for a full-time Medical Assistant at our Wasatch Internal Medicine Practice location.

Location: 1160 East 3900 South Ste. 1000, Salt Lake City, Utah, 84124

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 pm

  • This position supports a senior Internal Medicine physician with a large, established patient panel and requires the ability to manage a high patient volume efficiently while maintaining accuracy and patient satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Room patients and obtain/document vital signs, medical histories, and chief complaints
  • Perform medication reconciliation and update patient records in the EHR
  • Prepare patients for examinations and assist with in-office procedures
  • Administer injections, vaccines, and medications as directed
  • Perform EKGs and point-of-care testing
  • Process lab and diagnostic orders; coordinate referrals as needed
  • Manage patient communications, including phone messages and portal messages
  • Ensure exam rooms are stocked, prepared, and compliant with infection control standards
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic health record

Essential Functions and Duties:

  • Efficiently room patients while maintaining schedule flow and minimizing provider delays
  • Ensure accurate and complete documentation in the EHR in real time
  • Proactively anticipate provider needs during clinic sessions
  • Maintain timely processing of labs, referrals, and follow-up items
  • Demonstrate strong medication reconciliation accuracy
  • Provide professional, service-oriented communication with patients and team members
  • Maintain organized exam rooms and support clinical compliance standards
  • Effectively prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment without compromising quality

Qualifications:

  • Medical Assistant certification preferred (CMA/RMA)
  • Experience in Internal Medicine or adult primary care strongly preferred
  • Ability to thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced clinical setting
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and communication skills

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Standing and walking for extended periods, Lifting up to 50lbs.
  • Repetitive motion associated with operating a computer and other office equipment.
  • Inside, climate-controlled working conditions.

The salary range listed is the base salary range offered for this position. Actual salaries may vary depending on factors including but not limited to work experience, education, and/or skill level.
