Position Title: Medical Assistant II
Location: 201 Pennsylvania Pkwy, Suite 310, Carmel, IN 46280
Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
Under the supervision of the designated supervisor and assigned physician, the Medical Assistant II performs duties related to direct patient care, administrative tasks, and clinical support within the endocrinology specialty. The role ensures smooth patient flow, accurate documentation, and efficient coordination of procedures, treatments, and referrals. The MA II also supports front office functions, maintains EMR files, and may assist with physician order entry as directed.
Key Responsibilities:
Room patients and assist with procedures, injections, and treatments.
Perform general lab work and instruct patients on procedures and needs.
Handle registration, scheduling, and front desk functions.
Maintain accurate EMR documentation and files.
Support clinical and administrative workflows to ensure seamless patient experiences.
Precept current MA team members or externs as requested.
Ensure all medical orders and referrals are carried out promptly and correctly.
Qualifications & Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent required; Medical Assistant program graduation preferred.
Current certification as a Medical Assistant from one of the following organizations:
American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA)
American Medical Technologists (RMA)
National Health Career Association (CCMA)
National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA)
American Medical Certification Association (CMAC)
AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; other advanced life support certifications may be required per specialty.
Knowledge of OSHA, CLIA, ADA standards.
Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding.
TB validation (to administer or read) preferred or obtained within 6 months of hire.
Knowledge of Business Unit Quality Programs, Meaningful Use, and Standard Work concepts within 6 months of hire.
Familiarity with standard laboratory and medical procedures, insurance plans, and third-party payers.
Ability to master clinical competencies per current policies and checklists.
Basic math skills, accurate data entry, and attention to detail.
