Job Shift: DaysPOSITION PURPOSE:
Assists in examination and treatment of patients under direction of Physician or mid-level provider by performing the following duties.
KEY REPONSIBILITIES:
- Interviews patients and provides office duties such as vital sign measurement, pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height. All information, to include medical history, is recorded in patients' charts.
- Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients.
- Drapes patients with covering and positions instruments and equipment Hands instruments and materials to provider as directed.
-  Inventories and orders medical supplies and materials Calls medical facilities to schedule patients for tests.
- Gives injections or treatments and timely logs this information as required.
- Schedules appointments for ancillary services.
-  Maintains office and patient records.
- Responsible for maintaining equipment logs.
- Responsible for lab controls, in-house lab testing.
- Manages inventory and proper handling of stocked medications.
- Manages difficult or emotional customer situations and responds promptly to customer needs.
- Understanding of computer software and general knowledge of an electronic medical record program.
- Assists in all areas of the clinic as needed.
- Other duties may be assigned.

QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION:
-  High school diploma or GED, Medical Assistant certificate from college or technical school;
-  Medical Assistant certification from the certifying institution accredited by the Medical Assistant program,
- BLS certification
- Three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Medical Assistant Certification required and BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
