The Logan Health Rural Health Clinic in Conrad, MT, is expanding its healthcare offerings with new Dermatology services, and we’re seeking a compassionate, detail‑oriented Certified or Registered Medical Assistant to support our Dermatology provider. This is an exciting opportunity to grow a specialty service that will significantly impact access to dermatologic care for patients across Pondera County and the surrounding rural communities.

Our clinic is a cornerstone of local healthcare and part of Logan Health’s commitment to serving Montana’s rural populations. We offer a full spectrum of primary and specialty services including pediatrics, women’s and men’s health, therapy services, respiratory care, school-based health, walk-in care, and now—dermatology.
Under clinical supervision, the Certified or Registered Medical Assistant plays a key role in supporting Dermatology patient care through clinical assistance, procedure support, patient education, and efficient clinic flow. This individual will work collaboratively with the Dermatology provider, RNs, LPNs, and administrative staff to meet the physical, psychosocial, educational, and comfort needs of patients receiving dermatologic services.
Prepare exam rooms, equipment, and supplies for dermatology visits, biopsies, and minor procedures.
Assist the Dermatology provider during examinations, treatments, and in‑office procedures (e.g., lesion checks, cryotherapy, shave/punch biopsies, excisions within MA scope).
Perform accurate intake: patient history, vital signs, medication lists, and skin‑related symptom documentation.
Provide wound care instruction and general dermatology patient education under provider guidance.
Manage specimens and ensure accurate documentation and labeling for pathology processing.
Clean and disinfect dermatology equipment per established protocols.
General MA Duties
Collect and relay patient information from calls, messages, and portal requests to the appropriate clinician.
Assist with scheduling, prior authorizations, and other administrative tasks as needed.
Participate in required meetings and clinic initiatives.
Document accurately in the electronic medical record per policy.
Practice strictly within Logan Health MA/UAP Scope of Practice and maintain up-to-date competency validation.
Qualifications
Post‑secondary education or vocational healthcare training preferred.
Graduate of a CAAHEP or ABHES accredited Medical Assisting program.
Must either be Certified or Registered as a Medical Assistant (RMA or CMA) at the time of hire.
Current Health Care Provider CPR preferred or must be completed by orientation completion.
Preferred knowledge includes medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, common dermatology procedures, and basic lab values.
Familiarity with medical equipment, aseptic technique, infection control, and patient rights preferred.
Must meet one of the LH medication administration requirements:
Working knowledge of safe pharmaceutical handling, or
Completion of LH medication administration training.
Strong critical thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to adapt to changing workload and maintain professionalism in a fast-paced environment.
Must complete all onboarding education and demonstrate competency before performing related tasks.
