Provide professional medical assistance for the Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility clinical practice in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences. This is a 7 day/week clinical operation that requires rotational schedules including early mornings (7 AM start) and weekends.

Required to work Saturday and Sunday from 7:30a-12:00p. May be earlier/later times, based on patient needs.

Required Skills and Abilities

1. Demonstrated proficiency with medical assisting standards and principles. Proven ability with operational processes in a medical setting (i.e. clinical data collection, phlebotomy, and education). .
2. Demonstrated and proven ability as a medical assistant.
3. Ability to work independently and as part of a clinical team with demonstrated professional customer-focused demeanor.
4. Adaptability and flexibility to changing priorities and operational needs. Proven record of excellent attendance, punctuality and reliability.
5. Data entry skills associated with use of computers. Ability to scan, file, and stock supplies.

Preferred Skills and Abilities


EPIC experience preferred. Experience in an infertility clinical practice and phlebotomy skills highly desirable.

Principal Responsibilities

1. Maintains comfortable, orderly, safe, and clean environment. 2. Prepares patients for examinations. Provides routine information related to medical treatments and procedures. 3. Measures and records vital signs. Collects specimens. Prepares examining rooms. Selects and lays out medical supplies. 4. Maintains medical equipment. Records and reports patient information. Retrieves laboratory test results and patient files. 5. Escorts patients and visitors. Orders and maintains inventory of supplies. 6. Performs clerical functions related to medical activities.

Required Education and Experience

Two years of related work experience and a high school level education; or an equivalent combination of experience and education.

Required License(s) or Certification(s)

Certification by the American Association of Medical Assistants or American Registry of Medical Assistants (or ability to get certification/registration within 90 days of employment).

Health Requirements

This role is a healthcare worker position. Healthcare workers (HCW) are defined as university employees working a healthcare setting who have the potential for direct or indirect exposure to patients, human research subjects or infectious materials including body substance, contaminated medical supplies, devices and equipment, surfaces, or air. HCW have specific health requirements that must be met prior to starting work, including MMR vaccine or immunity, varicella (chickenpox) vaccine or immunity, TB screening, COVID vaccine according to University policy, hepatitis B vaccine or immunity, and annual flu vaccination.
