Compensation: $20.00 - $26.00 / hour
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Front Office Responsibilities
Greet patients and visitors in a professional and courteous manner.
Check patients in and out while verifying demographics and insurance information.
Collect co-pays, balances, and issue receipts.
Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments.
Answer and direct incoming phone calls and respond to patient inquiries.
Manage appointment schedules and provider templates.
Scan and upload patient documents into the electronic health record (EHR).
Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
Assist with patient registration and obtain required consent forms.
Back Office Responsibilities
Prepare patients for examination by obtaining vital signs, medical history, medication lists, and chief complaints.
Assist providers during examinations and procedures.
Administer medications and immunizations as directed and within scope of practice.
Perform EKGs, ear lavages, injections, and other clinical procedures as assigned.
Collect and prepare laboratory specimens.
Process prescription refill requests according to provider protocols.
Complete prior authorizations and medication refill documentation.
Prepare exam rooms and maintain adequate clinical supplies.
Clean and disinfect exam rooms following infection control guidelines.
Assist with patient education and follow-up instructions.
Document patient care accurately in the EHR.
Administrative Responsibilities
Process referrals, authorizations, and diagnostic testing requests as assigned.
Monitor provider inboxes and patient messages.
Complete forms, medical records requests, and other administrative tasks.
Participate in daily huddles, staff meetings, and quality improvement initiatives.
Assist with closing duties and maintain organized work areas.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Medical Assistant diploma or certificate from an accredited program preferred.
Current BLS/CPR certification preferred.
Previous medical office experience preferred.
Knowledge of medical terminology and electronic health records.
Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Bilingual skills are preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds.
Ability to perform repetitive hand movements and use standard office and medical equipment.
