Maxmed Healthcare is seeking a Medical Assistant (MA) to help provide services to the Department of Soldier Care, Moncrief Army Health Clinic at Fort Jackson, SC.  In this position our Medical Assistant (MA) will:
- Full range of receptionist, recordkeeping, and miscellaneous clerical duties within the ambulatory setting.
- Completes request forms, manually or automated, for individual patient orders, blood work, and other requests.
- Maintains and monitors patient appointment schedules for the clinic/practice. Schedules appropriate patient appointments manually and/or in CHCS.
- Coordinates and/or schedules patient appointments with other clinics or specialties.
- Receives patients and visitors as the initial point of contact, in person or telephonically.
- Ensures eligibility for care, and contacts Patient Administration for verification.
Hours of Work:   Normal hours will be established by the work center and will generally be an 8-hour day scheduled between the hours of 0300 to 1630 (typically 0300-1200) Monday through Friday including federal holidays with a one-hour unpaid lunch period. All staff will be required to complete a sign in sheet.

Qualifications
- Degree/Education: High School Diploma
- Certifications: Basic Life Support

Experience:  At least 6 months working in a hospital/medical environment
