Job Shift Day

A premier orthopedic practice, focused on providing advanced treatment options for trauma and joint-focused procedures, is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant. Our practice is known for delivering exceptional patient care, concierge-level service, and highly coordinated clinical operations. We are looking for a Medical Assistant who excels in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment and who embodies professionalism, clinical excellence, and attention to detail.

This is a full-time position that will report out of our clinic in Newport Beach, CA. This position will have a Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:30pm schedule.

In this role, the Medical Assistant will provide both front and back-office support. The ideal candidate demonstrates outstanding interpersonal skills, reliability and a commitment to delivering superior patient care. Those who have an understanding of orthopedic procedures (PRP, regenerative therapies, total joint replacement and trauma) are preferred.

Responsibilities:

Front Office:

  • Provide a warm, professional welcome to all patients while maintaining a concierge-level service standard
  • Perform patient check-in/check-out, appointment scheduling, and insurance verification
  • Manage patient communication, including follow-up calls, procedure reminders, and care coordination
  • Assist with preparation and processing of intake forms, consent documents, and clinical questionnaires
  • Maintain accurate and timely updates to patient charts and medical records

Back Office:

  • Perform venipuncture and PRP blood draws, ensuring accurate specimen handling, centrifugation, and preparation
  • Assist with regenerative medicine procedures, including PRP, steroid joint injections, and related therapies
  • Record vital signs, update medical histories, and prepare patients for evaluations and treatments
  • Provide clinical support during orthopedic exams, injections, minor office procedures, and post-procedure care
  • Manage clinical inventory, DME (durable medical equipment), sterilization processes, and exam room turnover
  • Ensure full compliance with OSHA, infection-control protocols, and all clinical safety policies
  • Support the surgeon with patient flow optimization, clinical documentation, and procedural readiness



Qualifications

In this role, you must have:

  • 5 years plus of experience working directly with an Orthopedic, Sports Medicine and/or total joint Surgeon
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or equivalent certification
  • Demonstrated proficiency in venipuncture, blood processing and workflows
  • Strong understanding of both front and back-office operations in a medical practice
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced setting
  • Strong communication skills, professional demeanor, and a patient-first mindset
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, composure, and discretion at all times

Preferred candidates have:

  • Experience using EMR/EHR systems
  • Bilingual



Compensation: $22.00 - $26.00/hour
