The CountryMedicalLeadis a member of the CountryDPSBoard, functioning asa strategic collaborator, bringing surgical insights, knowledge of local healthcare ecosystems, policy,trendsand guidelines to inform and support shaping the commercial strategy, maximizing opportunitiesDPSCountry business.

This role provides critical input into the global innovation agenda through gaining and assimilating customer insights to define key unmet needs, and through early, pro-active identification and assessment of evidenceneedsto address key stakeholder needs within the country for market registration, access & adoption.

Tasks/Duties/Responsibilities

SupportsCountry business leaders by

  • Understanding needsof the differentclinical and non-clinicalstakeholders in the healthcare environmentandbuilding strong relationships externally with key stakeholders (Strategic Accounts, Hospital Groups, Regulatory Agencies, Medical Societies, etc.) to drivebusiness initiatives

  • buildingstrongrelationships and partnerships with customers, especially focused on the development ofKeyOpinionLeaders.

  • anticipating,evaluatingand responding to competitive activity

  • seekingandestablishingstrategic partnerships to help drive core business areas

Ensuresthat the evidence supportingDepuy Synthesproducts and services isappropriateand sufficient for the Countrymarket (iefor regulatory approval/clearance, health technology assessment, reimbursement, customer access,technologyand service adoption,OBCs, medical safety and post‐marketing support) and is communicated well.

Actsas a contributor (whereappropriate)and reviewer/approver of medical, scientific, promotional, marketaccess and other informational material for country/region consumption.

Shapesthe innovation agendaby:

  • anticipating healthcare trends,policyand the evolving healthcare ecosystem

  • collaborating with the Global Franchise Medical affairs teamsby providing critical input into the Global innovation agenda through gaining and assimilating customer insights to define key unmet needs

  • providing input to the evidence generation strategy through early, pro-active identification and assessment of evidenceneedsto address keystakeholdersneeds within the country for market registration,accessand adoption

  • supporting in the execution of evidence plans, including case support, identification of evidence generation opportunities (e.g.data sharing agreements with earlyadoptors)

  • input to the evidence dissemination strategy, driving evidence implementation within the country by providing scientific and medical support of areas of surgicalexpertiseto drive business initiatives incl.facilitatingscientific and medical meetings

Required Minimum Education MD/PhDrequiredOther

Required Years of Related Experience:5‐10 years’ experience ofone ofthe following activities is required: post graduate medical education (beyondinitial licensure), fellowship or subspecialtysurgicaltraining, clinical practice;and/orwithdedicated research, and/or industryexperience in Medical/Clinical/R&D roles in a highly regulated, commercial pharma/medical devicebusiness

Required Knowledge,Skillsand Abilities

(Include any required computer skills, certifications, licenses, languages, etc.)

  • High emotional intelligence

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills for interactions with internal colleagues and external customers.

  • Expertise & business acumen ina surgicalfield or inmedicaldevice industry.

Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrated success in medical education, including the oversight of training programs and theirimplementation; and clinical evidence generation, interpretation and publication are preferred

Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals. The anticipated base pay range for this position is:

€81,900.00 - €135,700.00
