The purpose of the position is to strategically provide medical supervision,support business activities,evidencegenerationdissemination,educationalactivitiesandengage withinternal/external stakeholders.Leading with an outside-in vision to assimilate opportunitiesidentifyingmarket unmet needs, this roleprovidesmedical/scientificinsightsAdditionally, this position has a role as an SRP (study responsible physician) for clinical studies.

Essential / Principal duties and responsibilities:

  • Medical Governance: To ensurehealthcarecompliance on promotional material andhealthcareprofessionalqualificationin accordance withJ&J policy, company GOP/SOPand related workingprocedure To ensure the contents and medical claim infollowingparts, including Indication, contraindication potential complications, clinical trial related contents, caution/precautionand adverseeventareaccurate,fairand objective.
  • SRP(Study Responsible Physician)Tobe responsible forperforming safety review and makinga recommendation about continuation or termination of clinicaltrialsbased on medicalexpertisePlaya roleof thestudy safety leadas a medical doctor.
  • Safety Vigilance: To work with vigilance safety members as a team to ensure that the informationregardingadverseevents in the field,facilitatean accurateand transparent communicationonadverseeventsand complaintsinternally andproperly reviewthem
  • To assess device performance including clinical benefits and safety profiles. Evaluate theappropriaterisk-benefitbalance to support market registration and throughoutlifecycle.
  • MIR: To provide scientific and medical information to internalstakeholdersand external customers, including unsolicited requests from healthcare professionals to ensure clinicallyappropriateand safe use of company products.
  • To collectthe Investigator Initiated Study (IIS) ideas/proposals for research grant, ensuringthat specificevidence needs are assessed through medical science liaisonandtheproposalsare discussed withinlocal or globalinternal committeescollaborating with clinical affairs membersRegardingnon-clinical studies, coordinateandtrack the progress on contract,executionand publication for studies
  • For clinical studies, toprovidemedicalinsights on clinical questionandstudy design,addresstheinquiriesin internal committees, reviewmanuscriptsand providetimelyfeedback to the study team.
  • To plan non-clinical studies internally for local evidence generation. Coordinateinternal committee approvalprocesstoexecute themcollaborating withexternalinvestigators. Coordinate contract,executionand publication for studies.
  • In accordance withthe company strategy,toengage with external stakeholdersby medical science liaison Build andmaintainprofessional relationships with external experts to gain understanding, insights, and opinions on treatment patterns, including scientific activities and healthcareprofessionalsneeds within disease areas.
  • To work with cross-functional partners,providingstrategic clinical/medical supportforevidenceactivities relatedto the conductingclinical studies(e.g.protocol preparation, safety review, study report writing and publication). Maintain scientific contacts with local investigators.Provide medical strategic plans and solutions to support businessteamon product and/or procedure management for related therapeuticareain terms of evidence generationdissemination and other related activities.
  • Tosupporteducational activitiesforinternalorexternal stakeholders,
  • To input into risk management processes for hazard/harm identification & risk mitigation incross functional team.
  • To develop anunderstandingSOPs and proper working instructions to ensure the internal processfollowcompany policy and related regulation if applicable.
  • Initiative/support for publication of developed evidence.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • M.D. or D.D.S. (mandatory) with Ph.D. (preferable)
  • Preferably a NeurointerventionalistNeurosurgeon

Required:

  • Business level of English communication skills
  • Deep clinical and medical knowledge in certain disease areas

Preferred:

  • Experience/expertise in scientific/medical/clinical research.
  • Medical doctor (MD) with Neurovascular experience.

Other:

  • Proficient in the English and Japanese languages.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with external and internal stakeholders across the world based on medical and scientific expertise.
