Your new role

As Associate Director for Medical Affairs in Cardiometabolic Health, you will own and execute the medical strategy for the cardiometabolic therapy area in Saudi Arabia. This is a senior leadership role where you will bridge science and business, translating global priorities into local impact while building meaningful relationships with the medical community.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Owning and executing the Medical Affairs strategy for the cardiometabolic therapy area, aligning local priorities with global guidance while reflecting local patient and healthcare needs
  • Leading the scientific and medical communication strategy across clinical trial phases, including publication planning and RWE activities
  • Establishing and maintaining strategic relationships with Key Opinion Leaders, external experts, and professional associations at national and international level
  • Planning and leading Advisory Boards and insight-generation activities, ensuring HCP perspectives inform strategy and decision-making
  • Overseeing medical education for healthcare professionals through scientific meetings, congresses, and symposia
  • Serving as a senior medical partner to Commercial, Regulatory, Research, Market Access and Public Affairs, and other cross-functional teams
  • Managing, coaching, and developing senior professionals and/or first-line managers, building team capability and supporting career growth

Your new department

Within International Operations, the Medical Affairs team in Saudi Arabia plays a critical role in ensuring that our cardiometabolic portfolio is supported by robust scientific evidence and that healthcare professionals have access to the latest medical insights. You will report directly to the Affiliate Medical Director and work at the intersection of science, strategy, and patient impact in a market experiencing rapid healthcare transformation.

Your skills & qualifications

We are looking for a strategic medical leader who thrives at the intersection of science and business, and who is energised by building teams and relationships that drive real patient outcomes. You will bring:

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy or medicine
  • Significant industry experience (8+ years) in medical affairs, with demonstrated strategic leadership in a therapy area
  • Strategic thinking and leadership skills are essential
  • Proven ability to manage, coach, and develop senior professionals and first-line managers
  • Strong skills in stakeholder engagement, including KOL management, advisory boards, and collaboration with professional associations
  • Effective negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to lead constructively through disagreement or uncertainty
  • A patient-focused mindset combined with scientific rigour, curiosity, and openness to new approaches.
