If you’re passionate about advancing cancer care, driving scientific excellence, and shaping the future of oncology treatments, this is your opportunity to make a meaningful impact.

About the Role

As a Medical Advisor Oncology, you will act as a trusted scientific expert—both externally with healthcare professionals and internally across the organization. You will build strong scientific relationships, deepen understanding of oncology trends, support evidence generation, and contribute medical insights that shape our strategy and bring innovative medicines to patients.

This is a field‑based, customer‑facing role where you will spend around 50% of your time engaging with Key External Experts (KEEs) and other oncology stakeholders.

What You Will Do

External Medical & Scientific Engagement

  • Share and interpret clinical data in a balanced, evidence‑based manner.

  • Respond to unsolicited medical information requests with the highest scientific and ethical standards.

Scientific Programs & Evidence Generation

  • Support feasibility assessments and investigator/site selection.

Internal Medical & Scientific Support

  • Play a key role within cross‑functional brand teams in Oncology.

  • Provide medical insights on clinical practice, treatment trends, and scientific gaps.

  • Contribute medical input to brand strategy, planning, and budgeting.

  • Lead local medical plans and pre‑launch activities for new therapies.

  • Deliver scientific and product training to internal teams.

Patient‑Centric Focus

  • Understand patient demographics, treatment journeys, and unmet needs.

  • Engage stakeholders around patient pathways and experience.

  • Support discussions on treatment options in a non‑promotional, medically objective manner.

Governance & Compliance

  • Provide medical review of promotional materials and events.

  • Act as Nominated Signatory ensuring compliance with SOPs, industry codes, and local regulations.

  • Uphold AstraZeneca’s ethical standards, confidentiality, and governance requirements.

Continuous Learning

  • Own your scientific development in oncology.

  • Actively participate in training, meetings, and development programs.

  • Demonstrate AstraZeneca Values in everyday work.

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry

  • Strong scientific communication and presentation skills

  • Excellent English language proficiency

  • Proven relationship‑building and stakeholder management skills

Who You Will Work With
