The Medical Advisor (Clinical Research Physician/Scientist) is a therapeutically-aligned scientist and a key member of the Medical Affairs, Development, or Brand team for the Cardiometabolic Health (CMH) portfolio. The role contributes to strategic planning and works to meet the needs of patients, healthcare providers (HCPs), and payers, ultimately enhancing their experience. Working closely with Global Development, Therapeutic Area, IBU/GPS Medical, and Translational Medicine teams, the Medical Advisor participates in the full life cycle of CMH activities — from developing clinical/medical strategy for the therapeutic area, planning, conducting, and reporting local clinical studies, implementing global trials locally, reviewing and disseminating scientific content, to engaging with regulatory authorities.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Business/Customer Support Identify and proactively address the scientific information needs of CMH customers (patients, HCPs, payers) providing timely responses through data analysis and clinical/health outcomes research
• Medical Strategy & Brand Support Collaborate with the Brand team to contribute to local medical strategy for CMH products, providing scientific/strategic review and guidance on promotional materials, and supporting training of sales and medical personnel
• Scientific Data Dissemination Respond to unsolicited scientific information requests in line with local and global compliance guidelines, support planning of symposia/advisory boards, develop and review scientific materials, and provide congress support for CMH-related meetings
• KOL & Society Engagement Build and maintain collaborative relationships with Thought Leaders and relevant professional societies, and manage local/international expert networks in cardiometabolic health
• Clinical Planning & Trial Support Communicate local/regional research needs to Global Development and Medical Affairs to ensure Phase 3b/4 (and Phase I/II where applicable) clinical programs meet local customer needs; review and approve informed consent documents and risk assessments; participate in investigator identification and selection; monitor patient safety during study conduct
• Regulatory Support Review local labeling development/revisions, support preparation for regulatory advisory committee meetings and label discussions, and manage regulatory responses
• Scientific Expertise Maintain up-to-date knowledge of clinical trends and competitor product data in CMH, and critically review relevant literature

Qualifications:

• Advanced degree in health/medical sciences (MD, PharmD, PhD, etc.) or a related master's/bachelor's degree (e.g., nursing, pharmacy)
• 3–5 years of clinical experience, or 5+ years of pharmaceutical industry experience, or equivalent evidence of scientific content ownership
• Understanding of the drug development process (relevance to local country/region preferred)
• Ability to balance scientific priorities with business priorities
• Strong communication, interpersonal, teamwork, organizational, and negotiation skills
• Ability to influence internal and external stakeholders and foster a positive collaborative environment
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally
• Fluent in English (verbal and written)

Additional Skills/Preferences:

• Experience in clinical research or pharmaceutical medicine preferred
• Clinical experience in cardiometabolic disease, diabetes, or obesity strongly preferred
• Intellectual curiosity in science/medicine and learning agility to communicate complex scientific content clearly and concisely
• Self-directed with strong ability to manage multiple priorities and projects
• Strong presentation and literature search skills
• Strategic and critical thinking skills
