The Attorney General’s Office is seeking to hire a Mediator to work in the Attorney General’s Insurance & Financial Services Division.The Division provides consumer assistance and enforces laws regarding insurance, investment, and lending issues, and has a focus on automobile lending and insurance, as well as a focus on post-secondary educational debt, including student loan servicing and debt collection.
Primary Duties
·Mediate consumer complaints, with a particular focus on investments, annuities, and lending disputes, which may involve extended advocacy.
·Analyze and research various topics to provide information, referrals, and guidance to consumers.
·Collaborate with other government agencies and community partners.
Assist in investigations, litigation, and policy work relating to financial services issues.
Position TypeFull-Time/Non-Exempt Our current hybrid model includes some remote workdays for most positions. On in-office days, employees are required to report to one of our designated office locations, either in Boston or at a regional office.
Salary$67,269

Position Requirements
·Bachelor’s degree or a minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience.
·Experience or familiarity with securities, investments, and consumer lending preferred.
·Data analysis skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
·Effective verbal communication skills, including the ability to actively listen and explain complex information clearly and patiently to consumers, insurers, and financial services entities.
·Excellent written communication skills, including experience writing letters, memos, emails, summaries, and translating complex information in a clear and accessible manner.
·Ability to listen well, read carefully, and assess complex situations.
·Effective research, organization, and time management skills.
