Job Description

WE ARE HIRING!

We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Mediation Specialist to join our Loan Servicing team. In this role, you will support foreclosure prevention efforts by managing borrower mediation cases, coordinating with internal and external partners, and identifying effective loss mitigation solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and analytical skills, experience in mortgage servicing or loss mitigation, and a passion for helping borrowers navigate challenging financial situations.

In This Role, You Will:

  • Manage a portfolio of borrower mediation cases while ensuring compliance with investor, regulatory, and state mediation requirements
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for borrowers, attorneys, mediators, and internal departments throughout the mediation process
  • Prepare and review mediation packages, financial documents, loan histories, and loss mitigation evaluations for accuracy and completeness
  • Analyze borrower financial information and negotiate appropriate workout solutions, including loan modifications, repayment plans, and other retention options
  • Participate in virtual mediation sessions as the servicer’s representative and communicate outcomes and next steps to all parties involved
  • Monitor deadlines, document case activity within servicing systems, and collaborate with foreclosure, legal, compliance, and loss mitigation teams on escalated cases

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in mortgage servicing, loss mitigation, foreclosure, or mediation-related roles required
  • Experience working with foreclosure mediation programs strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with GSE, FHA, VA, and investor loss mitigation guidelines preferred
  • Strong verbal communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities with a strong sense of urgency and attention to detail
  • HUD Counseling Certification preferred
