Work you’ll do

Your primary responsibilities will focus on media relations and external communications, including crisis communications. You will also have opportunities to contribute to leadership and internal communications:

  • Work with a broad range of internal stakeholders—including the Southeast Asia Chief Executive Officer and country/business leaders—to develop communications strategies that support Deloitte’s strategic priorities and business objectives in Singapore and across Southeast Asia.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with media to elevate Deloitte’s eminence and visibility in Singapore.
  • Serve as an adviser to Southeast Asia counterparts to ensure alignment and consistency in external communications strategies across the region.
  • Proactively identify, develop, and pitch compelling story ideas to drive media coverage of Deloitte’s thought leadership and expertise.
  • Plan and execute media conferences and briefings for key announcements, develop media materials, and prepare spokesperson(s) for interviews.
  • Facilitate media queries and ensure timely, accurate responses in accordance with media and brand policies.
  • Develop crisis communications strategies and lead the execution of response plans.
  • Supervise and mentor junior members of the team to work effectively with the media.
  • Conduct media monitoring, reporting, and analysis.
  • Support other communications initiatives and projects as required.

Requirements

  • 6 to 8 years of proven experience in corporate communications and/or media relations - preferably in a public sector or B2B environment - with the ability to plan and execute communications campaigns. Experience in digital communications is an added advantage.
  • Strong track record in building, maintaining and managing relationships with journalists.
  • Deep understanding of media needs and media relations strategies.
  • Exceptional communications skills, with strong command of the English language, and excellent speaking, writing and storytelling abilities. Strong proficiency in the Chinese language is an added advantage.
  • Comfortable engaging with and providing counsel to senior leaders and stakeholders.
  • Ability to stay current on news developments and industry trends.
  • Highly meticulous with strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate in a team environment. Experience managing a small team is an added advantage.
