Job Description

About Us!

We are greyhound lovers who facilitate the commercial operation of our vibrant sport of greyhound racing. GRNSW is invested at every stage of the greyhound lifecycle from kennel to couch. GRNSW is committed to the long-term sustainability of the industry by caring for our People, Pups and Participants. Greyhound Racing NSW is the body corporate of our industry, charged with providing strategic direction, innovation and governance. GRNSW promotes the exciting racing aspect of the industry, as well as the equally important rehoming of our athletes.

About the role

Reporting to the Head of Marketing and Media, the Media Manager is responsible for GRNSW's media operations, TheDogs.com.au, broadcast and vision provider relationships, race-day media presence, feature racing content and key media partnerships.

The role ensures racing and media content is timely, accurate, operationally sound and aligned to GRNSW priorities. It supports stakeholder engagement, wagering engagement, participant communication, race-day presence and media opportunities across broadcast, digital and industry channels.

Until the Social Media Manager is appointed, the role may provide interim practical social media support to maintain continuity. Once the Social Media Manager is in place, day-to-day social media planning, publishing, moderation, sentiment tracking and reporting move out of the Media Manager role, with the Media Manager remaining an escalation and content input point where required.

  • Plan, create and deliver engaging racing, welfare and industry content across digital, broadcast and media channels to increase audience engagement.
  • Oversee race vision, broadcast scheduling and media operations, ensuring accurate, timely and seamless delivery of race-day content.
  • Monitor media performance, website analytics and audience engagement, providing insights and recommendations to continuously improve content and media effectiveness.
  • Support social media content and publishing during periods of transition, while providing ongoing media expertise and guidance to ensure messaging is accurate and consistent.
  • Identify and manage media risks, maintain publishing standards and support continuous improvement across media operations, content delivery and stakeholder communications.

About you

  • Experience in media, digital content, journalism, sport, racing, broadcast, communications or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of racing media operations, content execution, websites, video, broadcast and digital channels.
  • Experience managing website content, CMS workflows, publishing standards and digital accuracy.
  • Strong stakeholder management, interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to work with participants, clubs, media partners and wagering stakeholders.
  • Strong editorial judgement, written communication skills and attention to accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines, race-day requirements, competing priorities and time-sensitive media commitments.
  • Ability to work rostered and flexible hours to support race meetings, broadcast requirements and content deadlines.
  • Experience using CMS platforms, Adobe Creative Suite, video editing tools, social media platforms, Dropbox, SharePoint or equivalent systems is desirable.
  • Understanding of GRNSW, greyhound racing, welfare, wagering engagement and industry priorities is desirable.
  • High-level personal ethics, integrity, respect for others and ability to deal professionally with diverse stakeholders.
