Marshall Health offers a paid MedEx Student Internship designed to provide high school students with hands-on patient care experience in a clinical setting under appropriate clinical supervision.
The internship is a work-based learning opportunity for high school seniors who have successfully completed the required MedEx coursework and are participating in the MedEx program in Cabell or Wayne County. Students select a health career pathway for in-depth study in either Patient Care Technician or Medical Assistant.
The paid internship is planned to begin in December 2026 or January 2027, with the final start date to be confirmed. To be considered for the internship, please complete an application to this posting.
The student intern must:
The MedEx curriculum is guided by West Virginia Department of Education standards.
The student intern must have completed at least 10 hours of job shadowing during their junior year of high school while enrolled in the MedEx program.
Students assigned to St. Mary’s Medical Center or Cabell Huntington Hospital should apply through the Marshall Health Network careers site.
