The MedEx student internship is a work-based internship designed to provide patient care experience in a clinical setting, under the appropriate clinical supervision, after successfully completing the prerequisite courses in the Health Science Education Program of Study. The student is a high school senior selected to participate in the MedEx program in either Cabell or Wayne County. The student chooses a health career pathway for in-depth study for a Patient Care Technician or a Medical Assistant. The student intern will be part of the patient care team in the designated clinical location.
Qualifications
The student intern must have completed at least 10 hours of job shadowing during their junior year of high school while enrolled in the MedEx Program.
