Medical Assistant | Licensed Practical Nurse, Urology Specialists of Oak Ridge
Full Time, 80 Hours Per Pay Period, Day Shift
Monday-Friday, No weekends

Under general supervision, performs basic nursing procedures on patients. Assists physicians or practitioners with examinations, procedures, and other processes related to direct patient care. Position will primarily answer incoming phone calls and direct calls as needed. Position will address the triaging of phone/patient messages and direct them as needed, sending messages to providers/clinical staff as needed or directly speaking to providers as urgency requires. Position will also cross train to address PSR needs in order to assist with check-in / check-out as well as to help cover down in case of PSR staff shortage. Position will cross train to address clinical staff needs, to include patient intake and procedures in case of significant clinical staff shortage. Position will learn to schedule surgeries to assist in case of clinic surgery scheduling personell shortage.
Minimum Education:
None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority.
Minimum Experience:
None. Experience as MA preferred but not necessary, as will train as needed. Experience in urology or other specialty preferred but not required.
Licensure Requirement:
Certified Medical Assistant required.
