Position Title: Consumer Loan Specialist (Loan Processor)
Salary: $47,000+ commensurate with experience and qualifications

Consumer Loan Specialist
We have an excellent opportunity for a Consumer Loan Specialist to join our Mechanicsville team. Reporting to the Loan Operations Supervisor, this role is responsible for supporting Consumer loan processing, closing, and servicing activities, along with a variety of administrative and customer service functions.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform loan and accounting functions related to:
o Loan processing
o Loan closings
o Loan service activities (payments, disbursements, documentation)
• Collaborate closely with Relationship Managers (Loan Officers) to ensure timely and accurate loan closings following approval
• Prepare and review loan documentation to ensure completeness and compliance with Farm Credit procedures
• Manage post-closing activities and ongoing loan servicing responsibilities
• Provide professional customer service by:
o Answering incoming calls
o Greeting customers and visitors
o Responding to routine inquiries
o Directing callers and customers to appropriate resources
• Communicate effectively with attorneys, settlement agents, and borrowers throughout the loan closing process
Additional Information
• Farm Credit loans are retained within our portfolio for the life of the loan (not sold on the secondary market), allowing for a more relationship-focused approach to servicing.

Education, Experience, and Requirements (Qualifications for Success)
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience processing consumer loans (home purchases, refinances, consumer construction, lot loans)
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Current Notary Public commission or ability to obtain commission upon hire
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers and colleagues
• High level of discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent customer service, telephone, organizational, and grammar skills
• Ability to successfully pass background screenings, including credit, criminal, driving, and drug tests
• Working knowledge of Farm Credit operations (preferred)
• High school diploma required; Associate degree in business or related field preferred
• Experience as a real estate paralegal and/or in consumer mortgage lending preferred, including familiarity with deeds, deeds of trust, mortgage notes, title insurance, and residential or acreage real estate transactions
