Job Description

Job Responsibilities

Responsible for assembling, maintaining, and repairing equipment and vehicles. Responsibilities include ensuring functionality and reliability of machines, engines, and mechanical systems throughout the company fleet of equipment. Report to the Plant Manager or Site Manager depending on location, and has no supervisory responsibilities.

Candidate Qualifications/ Requirements

  • Build and assemble machines or mechanical components according to requirements
  • Inspect machines, engines, transmissions etc. and run diagnostic tests to discover functionality issues
  • Conduct repairs aiming for maximum reliability
  • Troubleshoot reported problems and resolve them in a timely manner
  • Perform thorough maintenance on machinery, equipment and systems
  • Clean and apply lubricants to machinery components
  • Replenish fluids and components of engines and machinery
  • Provide consultation on correct maintenance and preventative measures to machine or vehicle users
  • Undertake other duties as assigned (e.g. repair of hydraulic systems, painting vehicles etc.)
  • Accurately completing repair orders and keeping notes on repair orders to document repairs
  • Maintaining a clean and safe work environment

Required:

  • Must have a GED or high school diploma, certificate from Tech school or equivalent work experience
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Must have great attention to detail
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to work with various machines and tools
  • Experience working in small teams
  • Knowledge of various types of heavy equipment
  • Very strong mechanical knowledge
  • Ability to fill out logs on all equipment worked on
  • Knowledge on OSHA regulations pertaining to this position
  • Must have a safety-first mindset

Preferred:

  • 3-5 years’ experience, preferred
  • Welding experience
  • Extensive safety training
