We are seeking an experienced Mechanical & Piping Engineer with extensive hands-on expertise in the design, installation, testing, and maintenance of GRP, FRP, CS, and SS piping systems within Oil & Gas projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge, excellent leadership abilities, and proven experience working on QatarEnergy / QatarEnergy LNG projects. The role involves managing all piping-related engineering and construction activities to ensure compliance with project specifications, international standards, and client requirements.
Plan, design, and supervise the installation, fabrication, and testing of GRP, FRP, CS, and SS piping systems in line with project requirements.
Review and approve piping design drawings, isometrics, material take-offs, and technical specifications.
Ensure accurate execution of fabrication, welding, lamination, erection, and hydrotesting activities in compliance with standards and procedures.
Conduct regular site inspections to verify quality, workmanship, and adherence to QatarEnergy and international codes.
Prepare and review method statements, inspection & test plans (ITPs), and other related technical documentation.
Coordinate with QA/QC, HSE, and project management teams to ensure safe, high-quality, and efficient execution of piping works.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting during the installation, testing, and commissioning stages.
Liaise with QatarEnergy and consultant representatives for inspections, approvals, and technical clarifications.
Oversee material control, traceability, and documentation, ensuring full compliance with project specifications.
Participate in progress meetings, technical discussions, and prepare periodic project reports for management review.
Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
Minimum 10 years of experience in piping engineering and construction within the Oil & Gas sector, with expertise in GRP, FRP, CS, and SS piping systems.
Proven experience on QatarEnergy / QatarEnergy LNG projects is mandatory.
Strong knowledge of international standards and codes (ASME, ASTM, API, AWWA, ISO, BS).
Experience in welding, lamination, coating, hydrotesting, and pre-commissioning activities.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, piping design software, and MS Office applications.
Excellent command of English (verbal and written); Arabic proficiency is an advantage.
Strong leadership and team coordination capabilities.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
High attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality outputs.
Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
