Testing & Subsea provides well testing, reservoir evaluation, and subsea safety systems that validate reservoir potential and ensure operational integrity. With innovative tools and real-time data, we help customers reduce risk, optimize production, and maintain control from exploration to abandonment.
The Mechanical Technician supports the assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and validation of tools, components, and equipment used within Testing & Subsea operations.
This role works closely with engineering, manufacturing, and operations teams to support prototype development, testing activities, and product improvement initiatives. The position contributes to maintaining high standards for reliability, safety, quality, and operational performance across mechanical systems and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist with assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of mechanical tools, components, and subassemblies.
• Support laboratory, shop, and prototype testing activities following established procedures and technical requirements.
• Help identify and resolve routine test setup, equipment, or tooling issues.
• Document test procedures, observations, measurements, and results accurately and consistently.
• Assist in assembly and preparation of prototype tools and equipment for testing and validation activities.
• Support prototype part sourcing and coordination with manufacturing teams as needed.
• Assist in transitioning new tool designs into manufacturing and production environments.
• Apply working knowledge of mechanical systems, materials, components, and assembly techniques.
• Incorporate Reliability, HSE, and Quality standards into all work activities and processes.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and operations teams to support product development and continuous improvement efforts.
• Support troubleshooting and repair activities related to equipment performance and operational reliability.
Required
• Associate’s degree in Mechanical Technology, Engineering Technology, or related technical discipline
OR equivalent hands-on technical experience.
• 2+ years of experience in a technician, manufacturing, assembly, testing, or field operations environment.
• Basic understanding of mechanical assembly, tooling, and test procedures.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read and follow technical procedures and documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality standards.
Preferred
• Experience supporting oil & gas, subsea, pressure control, or industrial equipment operations.
• Familiarity with prototype testing, tool validation, or manufacturing support activities.
• Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, or assembly documentation.
• Experience with troubleshooting mechanical systems or field equipment.
