Job Description
We are looking for a talented and skilled Mechanical Technician in Ferro Silicon Plant to join our multicultural and diverse team in Kuwait. You will be responsible to perform preventive, corrective and breakdown maintenance on mechanical equipment to ensure safe, reliable and efficient operation of the Ferro Silicon Plant. Support equipment installation, commissioning and routine maintenance activities while maintaining the HSE requirement.
- Carry out preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance on all assigned mechanical equipment according to maintenance schedules
- Maintain equipment including pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, blowers, hydraulic systems, cooling tower systems, valves, water or oil piping and other plant mechanical equipment.
- Support the installation, inspection, alignment, testing and commissioning new equipment.
- Conduct routine equipment inspections to identify abnormalities and recommend corrective actions before failure.
- Complete maintenance work orders, inspection reports, and equipment history records accurately in SAP, supporting continuous improvement and equipment reliability initiatives.
- Support RCA investigations and inspect critical spare parts to ensure equipment reliability, availability, and operational readiness.
- Complete maintenance works orders, inspections reports, supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform all maintenance activities in accordance with company HSE policies.
Required Qualifications:
- Vocational/Technical Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Maintenance, Industrial Maintenance, Utilities, or related discipline
Preferred Qualifications:
- Vocational/Technical Certificate: Minimum 5 years of mechanical maintenance experience in ferro silicon, steel industry, or heavy industry operations.
- Diploma: Minimum 3 years of mechanical maintenance experience in ferro silicon, steel industry, or heavy industry operations.
Relevant experience may include:
- Experience performing mechanical maintenance, inspection, and troubleshooting of pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, blowers, hydraulic systems, cooling systems, piping, valves, and other industrial equipment.
- Prior experience in ferroalloy plants, steel plants, smelters, cement plants, power plants, or similar continuous process industries.
- Exposure to preventive, predictive, corrective, breakdown, and shutdown maintenance activities in heavy industrial environments.
Job-Specific Skills:
- Knowledge of mechanical maintenance practices, including equipment inspection, alignment, installation, and troubleshooting.
- Ability to perform preventive, predictive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance of mechanical equipment and systems.
- Ability to inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, blowers, hydraulic systems, cooling tower systems, valves, piping, and associated plant equipment.
- Ability to support equipment installation, alignment, testing, commissioning, and maintenance activities.
- Ability to identify equipment abnormalities, diagnose faults, and recommend corrective actions to improve equipment reliability and performance. - Ability to complete maintenance work orders, inspection reports, and equipment history records accurately.
- Ability to support maintenance activities during breakdowns, shutdowns, and project execution activities.
- Strong adherence to Safety Standards, SOPs, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), permit-to-work requirements, and emergency procedures.
- Strong coordination, communication, troubleshooting, and reporting skills.
