The Manufacturing Equipment Technician is responsible for operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining production equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing operations.
This role plays a critical part in minimizing downtime, supporting continuous production, and driving process improvements. The ideal candidate brings strong mechanical aptitude, hands-on problem-solving skills, and experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Set up, operate, and monitor production equipment to meet established quality and output standards
Perform line changeovers and clearance activities in accordance with procedures
Maintain continuous equipment operation and respond to production demands
Diagnose and resolve equipment issues, including mechanical repairs and part replacement
Perform preventative maintenance (PM) and support repair activities during scheduled downtime
Collaborate with engineering, controls, and technical teams on complex issues
Monitor product quality and ensure adherence to specifications and GMP requirements
Escalate quality or performance issues to Quality and production leadership
Maintain accurate production and system documentation (SAP/MES, scrap, output, etc.)
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, quality, and equipment reliability
Support equipment modifications, validations, and testing activities
Maintain familiarity with work instructions, SOPs, and controlled documentation
Communicate effectively across shifts to ensure smooth operations and handoffs
Support and train operators on equipment use, safety, and best practices
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Participate in safety initiatives and root cause investigations
Support overtime, call-ins, and off-shift troubleshooting as needed
Assist technical teams with equipment upgrades and process trials
High School diploma/GED OR 2 years of industrial/manufacturing related experience
Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills
Experience with automated or high-speed manufacturing equipment
Exposure to PLC-controlled systems
Knowledge of GMP or regulated manufacturing environments
Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience
12-hour night shift (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
Requires standing, lifting, and working with production equipment
