Job Title: Mechanical Systems Forman

Position Purpose
This position coordinates daily staff work in the Mechanical Systems HVACR team, helps perform required HVAC maintenance repairs and also helps coordinate required regulatory inspections and repairs with outside service contractors.
As a Mechanical Systems Foreman you will:
Organize, schedule, and supervise the activities of the facility’s Refrigeration Mechanics and Maintenance Mechanics distributing and following up on all work orders reviewing for completeness, correctness and neatness.
Provide training to employees with emphasis on mechanical, HVAC, DDC and computer systems contacts performance evaluations in conjunction with the Assistant Director.
Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs and corrects operational problems on the facility’s HVAC equipment, heat pumps, air handlers, automatic temperature control, chilled water and reheat systems.
Monitor, operate and make program additions or changes on the facility’s building automation systems.
Maintain adequate inventory of mechanical supplies and material. Works closely with the Buyer for cost effectiveness in the purchasing of all material.
Work closely with the Stationary Engineer Foreman to coordinate facility’s heating and cooling equipment requirements and starts and stops HVAC equipment.
Provide assistance to the Director/Assistant Director when mechanical systems shutdowns are required and coordinates maintenance and repairs with appropriate outside contractor or vendors, related to HVAC equipment.
Follow department policies and procedures when performing duties.
Keep the Assistant Director/Director informed on all activities.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Director or Assistant Director of Plant Operations.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or technical school required
Associate's degree preferred
2-4 years minimum experience required
Class “A” Boiler License highly desired
Thorough knowledge of plant facility mechanical system: equipment, repair, etc., and HVAC, refrigeration systems, pneumatic, DDC, building automation and energy management systems.
Must be able to work safely and accurately under emergency conditions.
Mechanical and Supervisory Experience desired.
