Custom Solutions has an opportunity for a motivated, creative, high performing Engineer to join an elite team and work in a fast-paced project execution environment.
Job Accountabilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for the design of the turbo machinery mechanical systems. This includes the creation of the Process & Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID). The P&ID is a schematic illustration of the functional process relationship of piping, instrumentation and system equipment components. It is used to define Bill of Material parts, as a manufacturing aid, and by the Customer for Field process planning. The Sr Mechanical Systems Engineer (Hydro DE) will be trained in how to size valves, coolers, motors and piping. All the components that are needed to support the turbo machinery package systems are defined by the Application Check Sheet (ACS).
This role may also be responsible for the creation of parts, updating bills of materials, and drawings to support production and customer needs. A high level of support, coordination, and communication with other engineers and support organizations is expected. In addition, this may involve coordination with purchasing and suppliers to specify custom components and assist in the resolution of technical issues from the field. Support for inter-departmental and corporate process improvement initiatives is also expected.
Additional duties include supporting field personnel during commissioning and the resolution of field issues. This position provides opportunities to travel to support Customer Design Review meetings, Hazard and Operability Study (HAZOP) meetings, and support installed equipment in the Field.
This position requires excellent organization and time management abilities, effective problem solving and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment. The Mechanical Systems Engineer (Hydro DE) will apply analysis techniques to size valves, motors, piping systems, and other package components and should have a basic understanding of fluids, pressures, heat transfer and thermodynamics.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science in Engineering (or equivalent experience)
Top Candidates Have:
• Experience with Gas Turbine Systems and their operation
• Exposure to Process & Instrumentation Diagrams
• Ability to work in a fast paced, team environment, capable of handling multiple projects with competing priorities, while meeting project deadlines and commitments
