PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

As a Mechanical Support Specialist, you’ll play a key role in a fast-paced production environment, contributing to the manufacturing and maintenance of critical railway components. From wheels, axles, and bearings to track systems and locomotive repairs, your work helps keep the rail network moving safely and efficiently.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Safely operate material handling equipment, including forklifts and overhead cranes, to support production needs
• Perform precision tasks such as grinding, fitting, heating, bending, and fastening materials during the manufacturing process
• Utilize hand tools and measuring devices to assemble and build high-quality railway components

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or general equivalency
• Minimum 1 year experience working around metal machining equipment and operating a forklift
• Valid driver’s license
• Must be able to work within strict established safety and work guidelines/rules to complete job
• Ability to pass the required written examinations, read and understand safety instructions, rules, regulations and other written or printed material in English

PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:

Medical and Drug Testing

This is a safety sensitive position and a successful pre-employment medical assessment including physical, vision, hearing, and a negative company drug test is required. Post hire qualification drug testing may also be required.
