Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the mechanical maintenance team, including technicians, fitters, and welders.
  • Plan, schedule, and oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on plant and mobile equipment (crushers, conveyors, pumps, screens, and processing plant machinery).
  • Diagnose mechanical faults and lead troubleshooting efforts to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations and company policies during all maintenance activities.
  • Monitor spare parts inventory and coordinate with the Maintenance & Material Manager on procurement needs.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and equipment history logs.
  • Conduct routine inspections and audits of mechanical systems to identify risks and improvement opportunities.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate the performance of mechanical staff.
  • Liaise with other departments (production, electrical, procurement) to ensure smooth plant operations.
  • Prepare reports on equipment performance, breakdowns, and maintenance costs for management review.
  • Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns and ensure timely resolution.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Prior experience in mining, coal processing, or heavy industrial plant operations strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and rotating equipment.
  • Familiarity with maintenance management systems (CMMS) is an advantage.
  • Good command of English (spoken and written); knowledge of Lao or Thai is a plus.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Willingness to work on-site at XPPL (Sekong Province) under a rotational or resident schedule.
