We are currently looking for an Mechanical Specialist/Sr Mechanical Specialist for our Midland, KY office.

This position is responsible for regulatory compliance and the operation, maintenance, and repair of station equipment, including reciprocating and centrifugal natural gas compressors, air compressors, natural gas-fired engines, turbines, fluid separation equipment, valves, and related appurtenances. This includes following DOT regulations, industry standards, manufacturer recommendations, and BWP guidelines. This position must follow all BWP safety rules, environmental and OSHA regulations, document maintenance and operational activities, respond to emergencies, and may occasionally assist at other compressor stations.
Key responsibilities include operating equipment and leading repairs and maintenance of reciprocating natural gas-fired engines, turbines, and associated compressors, including overhauls and mechanical repairs. The role involves completing OMS database compliance, performing routine maintenance such as filter changes, cleaning and inspecting coolers, and periodic checks of components throughout the facility and engines/compressors (e.g., valves, shutdown devices, rod/bearing clearances, packing, piston clearances, lube oil samples, web deflections, cooling fans, emergency shutdown systems, fire/gas detection). The position also requires monitoring flows and operating conditions for assigned area.
This position will be located at our Bremen, KY Compressor Station and will operate in a scheduled rotation. Normal work hours for this position are 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. weekdays but are subject to change; however, this position is subject to occasional call-out and schedule adjustments, as necessary.
This position's primary area of responsibility will be at our Bremen, KY Compressor Station, and successful candidate will be required to reside within 30 miles of this facility.
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:
• Minimum 2 years of progressive, hands-on mechanical experience with natural gas engines and compressor equipment, including installation, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and/or overhaul of reciprocating and/or centrifugal compressors. Candidates must demonstrate substantial, continuous experience specializing in natural gas compression equipment.
• Mechanical knowledge of 2- and 4-stroke, slow and high-speed engines and compressors
• Mechanical knowledge of gas turbines
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with all levels of personnel, as well as strong critical thinking and problem solving skills and a strong ability for prioritizing and scheduling multiple projects.
• Experience with Microsoft programs, including Word, Excel and familiarity with CMMS system for maintenance documentation.
• Valid Driver’s license is required and the ability to operate an all-terrain vehicle.

• Physical requirements of the role include the ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. for a minimum of 50 feet in order to transfer tools and equipment, the ability to operate valve control wheels with a minimum of 50 turns, and the ability to work alone as required in extreme weather conditions including hot, cold, muddy, and wet environments.
